Prof. Dr. Alexandra Rengel

Dr. Alexandra Rengel, LLM/JSD is a partner in the firm of Mercado & Rengel with offices in Miami, Boston and Madrid. Dr. Rengel is a member of the Florida and Massachusetts Bars as well as the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados of Madrid, Spain, and has broad experience as a litigator in the United States at the trial and appellate levels in both State and Federal Courts. She has handled cases in Florida, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, New York, and Washington DC.

Alexandra Rengel obtained her Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, and her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Boston University, in Boston, Massachusetts. She holds a Masters in Spanish Law from the Universidad de Alcala de Henares (LL.M.) and a Masters of law in Intercultural Human Rights (LL.M.) from Saint Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida. In 2013, Ms. Rengel obtained a Doctorate of Juridical Science Degree (J.S.D.) from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida; having obtained the highest grade of Summa Cum Laude for her Doctoral Dissertation. She is the author of the book, Privacy in the 21st Century, Martinus Nijhoff, publishers.

Dr. Rengel currently works in her law practice, dividing her time between her offices in Spain and the United States. She also teaches at the Madrid Campus of Suffolk University, as well as the M.B.A. programs of Instituto de Empresa and Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid, Spain. Dr. Rengel also imparts seminars on International Business Law, Transnational Dispute Resolution and Business Ethics. She has most recently lectured at the University of Toulouse, in France, and at the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Zaragoza, in Zaragoza, Spain.
